More than ever, young kids and teens have some hearing loss. Being plugged in to cell phones and MP3 players for hours on end is having a devastating impact on children’s hearing. Childhood hearing loss carries serious consequences, from affecting social life to academic success. Prevention AND early intervention are imperative. When hearing loss is discovered and treated at a younger age, children develop better overall communication skills than those whose hearing loss is diagnosed and treated at a later age. Ensure your child gets the most out of their academic and social life by limiting exposure to loud music. Make sure they can hear what’s going on around them!
