At Scotch Mountain, we have been farming the pristine hills and valleys of the Big Head River Basin in Grey County Ontario since 1848. Our cooperative model farming operation incorporates neighbouring families committed to the principles of producing premium natural meats free of Anti-biotics, Growth Hormones and GMO's.Our Angus Cattle, Sufflok Lambs and Yorkshire Landrace Pigs are raised following strict methods passed down through generations of real family farming. We grow our own GMO free feeds which are processed at a local mill that still turns through the use of river water on its way to Georgian Bay. By following ecologically sound agricultural practices and sustainable production methods, we have set a standard for the preservation of small scale family farming. For our efforts Scotch Mountain Meats was awarded the Premiere's Innovation Excellence regional award in 2008.
By following our heritage protocols and principles the result truly culminates into an artisanal meat like no other. We've been producing for over a century, uncompromising in the face of change brought about by factory farming. By putting Scotch Mountain on your family's table you are making a statement about enjoying food the way it was meant to be enjoyed.
